Introducing the Clean Our Seas Collection
Coming Late November 2018
As an artist in southwest Florida I feel like I owe everything I’ve achieved so far to the beautiful beaches lining our coast. Even though I studied art and spent over a decade in a creative graphic design career in Wisconsin, it wasn’t until I moved here and became inspired by my beautiful surroundings that I finally found the courage to pursue my dream. To put it simply, the beach is my happy place! Without it I would not be where I am today. Unfortunately, trips to the beach this past summer were anything but happy. Like so many other regions in Florida, red tide outbreaks — made worse with toxic algae blooms — devastated our sea life and created a health hazard to the local community. It was heartbreaking to walk along the shore and see so much death. I felt helpless.
Thankfully there are groups like Captains for Clean Water who are fighting this crisis. As an effort to help them with their mission, I am creating a very special series of paintings.
About the Collection
The “Clean Our Seas” Collection will feature works on framed wood panels as well as small works on paper. Half of all proceeds will be donated to Captains for Clean Water, a grassroots nonprofit organization advocating for south Florida’s water conditions. Below are several of the pieces that will be released in late November. I will be sharing previews of them all on Instagram and Facebook as it gets closer — if you see one you would like to reserve, please contact me!
