About Dora Knuteson

Dora Knuteson ©Andre Spatz PhotographyDora Knuteson is a Naples artist specializing in tropical, floral and coastal themes. Her work – inspired by the sunshine and beautiful beaches of southwest Florida – is characterized by its lively brushwork and vibrant color.

Originally from Wisconsin, Dora earned her Bachelor of Art degree from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and spent the first decade of her career as a graphic designer. She began painting as a hobby shortly after relocating to Florida, and it didn’t take long to realize that her joyful and slightly whimsical style resonates with others. After receiving her first glowing testimonial from a new collector, Dora knew that she had found her calling. Today, her painting style is heavily influenced by her background in graphic design and illustration as well as her early fondness of Primitive styles of art and passion for color.

A lifelong love of animals and nature inspired Dora’s dedication to wildlife and environmental conservation. Her mission to support these causes was solidified by the early success of her “Clean Our Seas Collection” in 2018. She continues to support protection of local waters and wildlife through her partnership with the Friends of Rookery Bay.

Dora’s work is featured in private collections across the U.S.
